Frank Mugyenyi is the Founder and Global Executive Director and Chairman , Minerals African Development Institution (MADI). MADI is an African led Social Enterprise and Think tank that works in all African Countries. Its main aim is to de-risk the African Minerals Sector and one of its Pillars (Focus) areas is the Formalization and Professionalization of the ASM in Africa. He was Head of Minerals Unit t the African Union Commission and Coordinator of the Africa Minerals Development Centre (AMDC) a Specialized Agency of the African Union responsible for the implementation of the Africa Mining Vision (AMV). He was was also Coordinator of the Institutional Support Project funded by AfDB and Senior Industry Advisor to Commissioner for Department of Economic Development Trade, Tourism, Industry and Minerals of African Union Commission (AUC).. In this capacity Mr. Mugyenyi advised the Commissioner as well as African Union member States, Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and private sector on industry and mineral resource development policies and strategies. Mr. Mugyenyi has championed the establishment and strengthening of key African Institutions including, COMESA Business Council (CBC), African Leather and Leather Products Institute (LLPI) the African Minerals Development Centre (AMDC) as a Specialized Agency of the African Union and the development of four key AMV Instruments, namely Geological and Mineral Information Systems (GMIS) Strategy, African Minerals Governance Framework, (AMGF), the AMV Private Sector Compact and the African Minerals ad Energy Resource Classification Framework and managements system and the Pan African Reporting Code (AMREC-PARC) that were endorsed by the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
