Bio

I am a Canadian environmental geoscientist/biologist and ASGM expert, with more than 10 years of professional experience in the sector. I direct Pact's portfolio of gold sector projects, spanning South America, Africa and Asia. Prior to working with Pact I worked with Golder Associates as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) group, and prior to this I was a co-founding director of the Artisanal Gold Council (AGC), having written an MSc (University of Victoria) on ASGM, Sediment and Mercury in Indonesia. In my work with Pact, I am most passionate about how the private sector (ASGM operators and local banks) can be supported and leveraged with technology and financing to professionalize the ASGM sector.
